We are what we eat

The title sums up my high school thesis, where I stated that our food habits can portray our society in quite a sharp way.
I really believe it is like this, so I thought I would have liked to share with you all how I see myself through food.
Food for me is more than a physical need. Above all, it is a psychological and social necessity.
I noticed that when I'm alone I usually tend not to cook. I'll just grab a bowl of cereals or a yoghurt and eat in front of my computer in the comfort of my bed.
I cook almost only when I'm wit other people.
And I think I know reason of this behavior.
I've always been a little bit shy and reserved, so many times I appear to be unattainable. Writing this blog and cooking for people I care about, are for me the best ways to express myself.
Through the food I cook I try to convey all my love to the others. It's how I reach out and connect with the rest of the world.
I'm someone who needs to take care of the others and want them to feel comfortable with me, despite my silences and my apparent initial lack of expansiveness.
People enjoying what I prepare for them make me feel accepted and confirm that I have all the skills to be a good friend, lover, sister, daughter.
Sometimes I'm scared of what the others think about me, but when I cook I know that I'm a good person and the others will see it.
Cooking helps me finding all the ingredients for the receipt of happiness.
And remember: if I really like you, I'll cook for you!
I'm hoping that now you could have a clearer idea of who I am.
